About IsMyUrlSafe
IsMyUrlSafe is a free set of safety checkers for everyday situations. Paste a web link, a suspicious message, or a photo of a QR code and get a plain-language reading of whether it looks safe to trust — built for people who are not security experts and want a quick second opinion before they click, reply or pay.
Why it exists
Most scams now arrive as a link or a message that looks ordinary. The advice to "check before you click" is sound, but the tools for doing it are usually aimed at security professionals or bundled into products that cost money and want an account. IsMyUrlSafe is meant to be the opposite: one page, no jargon, no sign-up, that gives a normal person a fast, honest read in the moment they need it.

URL Safety Checker
Paste a web address, including a shortened one, and see where it leads and whether anything harmful is known about it.
Scam text checker
Paste the wording of an unexpected SMS, chat or email and get a read on whether it looks like a scam.
QR Safety Checker
Upload a photo of a QR code; it reads the address inside and checks it the same way the URL checker does.
How it works
A link is cross-referenced against large, continuously updated records of websites reported for phishing, malware, fraud and other abuse, and shortened links are followed to their real destination — all without opening the page from your device. A message is put through automated analysis of the patterns common to scams, with extra review of borderline cases. Each check ends in a plain verdict: safe, suspicious or unsafe, with a short explanation of why.
"Unsafe" means clear warning signs were found. "Suspicious" means there is enough doubt to stop and confirm through a channel you already trust. "Safe" means nothing harmful is known about it right now — a strong signal, not a promise.
Free, and private by design
There is no account, nothing to install and no adverts. Messages and QR images are not stored in a readable form, and link checks leave only a short, domain-only record. The full details are in the privacy policy.
Who builds it
IsMyUrlSafe is built and maintained by Vaibhav Dhama, a software developer. He writes and tests every checker against real examples — known-bad links from public abuse feeds, harmless everyday links that must not be flagged, and messages drawn from real scam campaigns — and writes the site's guides on link safety, phishing and online scams.
What it does not do
IsMyUrlSafe is a lightweight second opinion, not a guarantee and not a replacement for security software, a password manager or two-step verification. If a result and your instinct disagree, take the slower, safer path.
