How these guides are tested

Every checker on this site is exercised against real examples before a guide describes it: known-bad links from public abuse feeds, harmless everyday links that must not be flagged, shortened links that resolve to both safe and unsafe destinations, and messages drawn from real scam campaigns. The aim is that the plain-language verdict a guide tells you to expect is the verdict the tool actually returns.

Guides are written from that hands-on testing rather than from second-hand advice, and they avoid steps that only work for one operating system or one browser without saying so. Where a technique has a limit — a preview feature that only some shorteners offer, a reputation check that cannot catch a brand-new site — the guide says so instead of overpromising.

Each guide carries a "last reviewed" date. Guides are re-checked when the tools change, when a shortener or platform changes how its links behave, or at least once a year, and the date is updated when that happens.
